Art director

Let's be honest. Most people think Art Directors spend their days choosing colours and fonts. They don't. Their real job is turning ideas into worlds — a fashion show, a luxury campaign, a magazine cover, a brand launch.

What do they actually do?

An Art Director creates and protects the visual vision of a project. On a typical week they might:

Develop creative concepts
Build moodboards and visual directions
Work with designers, photographers and producers
Present ideas to clients
Review every visual detail before launch

In one sentence: they make sure everything looks and feels right.

The part nobody tells you

Taste is important. Curiosity is more important. The best Art Directors spend their time looking at exhibitions, films, books, architecture, fashion and culture. Their secret weapon isn't Photoshop — it's perspective.
